 Helping the Community

Paula and Bob are not only passionate about printers and their customers but they are keen supporters of the community and giving back in any way they can.

RE:ACT

REACT.jpg

Prolific, like many businesses, has felt the disruption that the Coronavirus pandemic has brought. Bob has used this time to pursue a volunteering role with RE:ACT Disaster Response.

RE:ACT is a disaster response charity that repurposes the hard skills and experience of military veterans to operate in high tempo, dynamic and complex disaster zones, providing direct humanitarian action for the hardest to reach and most vulnerable communities.

Bob, being a military veteran, instantly had a connection with the charity and is now on board as a volunteer!

During Covid-19 he has been on several tasks. They have been, supporting the local council with the influx of visitors to the local recycling centres to more recently working with FareShare in providing logistical support for those in desperate need of food resources in the South West.

Bob will be on stand by for any future demand locally or further afield.

Shout 85258

Paula spends several evenings a week, working as a Shout Volunteer.

Shout 85258 is a free, confidential, 24/7 text messaging support service for anyone who is struggling to cope. Since it’s launch in May 2019, it’s had more than 400,000 conversations with people who are anxious, stressed, depressed, suicidal or overwhelmed and who need immediate support. As a digital service, Shout 85258 has become increasingly critical since Covid-19, being one of the few mental health support services able to operate as normal at this time

Paula had been seeking a way to support the community and following The Duke of Cambridge’s appeal for volunteers in 2019, Paula knew instantly she wanted to be involved and signed up on the spot. Following her training and graduating as a Shout Volunteer she is well on her way to completing the 200-hour milestone. It’s a challenging role but immensely humbling and fulfilling.
