CleanHub
Through our partnership with CleanHub via Toshiba, we are preventing plastic waste from ending up in landfills, open environments, or our oceans.
CleanHub in action…
Konad
Konad is a small town, tucked away on Kerala's coastline — and since it’s located just four kilometers from the beach, locals here have a deep connection with the ocean.
Before our Clean Konad project, none of the households in this town had access to state waste management services, meaning the community had few options when it came to disposing of their waste.
Fast forward to today, and Cleanhub now fund the collection of plastic waste from 863 people — living in 179 different homes.
Toshiba x CleanHub against plastic waste pollution
Committed to the people. Committed to the future.
At Toshiba are dedicated to sustainability by integrating eco-friendly practices into our products and operations. They aim to minimise plastic waste and promote a circular economy through innovative recycling and resource management solutions.
They deeply understand the importance of reducing plastic pollution, as the excessive use of plastic has far-reaching consequences:
Environmental Damage: Plastic waste accumulates in ecosystems, harming animals, polluting waterways and interfering with natural processes.
Threats to Marine Life: Tonnes of plastic end up in the oceans every year, endangering marine life that ingest or become entangled in them.
Hazards to Human Health: Microplastics have entered our food, water, and air, causing potential risks to human health.
Economical Costs: Plastic pollution affects a range of industries, including fishing, tourism and shipping. It costs the economy billions of dollars.
We believe that supporting initiatives to reduce plastic waste is essential for creating a healthier planet for future generations.
